PowerISO:
It is a software application used to
generate, open, mount and emulate, compress, encrypt and otherwise manipulate
CD & DVD image files. It uses a proprietary disc image format, DAA, &
supports other formats including ISO, BIN, NRG, and CDI. POWER ISO can create
image files of up to 256GB.
Some Features:
Power ISO can create, edit or convert
ISO image files or extract their contents. Power ISO can convert approximately
all images file formats to ISO images. It can also make bootable ISO file and
floppy disk images. Existing images can b mounted on Power ISO’s interval drive
and used like a common disc.
Power ISO can save DAA images, which
add the subsequent features that are not present in ISO (but can b manually
compressing ISO files):
Can compress DAA images, therefore
saving space & allowing smaller downloads
Be able to password protect DAA
images
Can split DAA images into several
smaller files
Direct Access Archive (DAA):
It is a proprietary file format
developed by Power ISO computing for disk image files. The format supports
features such as compression, password protection, & splitting to multiple
volumes. Popular disk images mounting programs such as Alcohol 120% and Daemon
Tools currently do not support the mounting of DAA images.
Currently there is no published
information about the format. Amongst mainstream, it can open or converted with
Power ISO and Magical ISO.
Conversion Tools:
Power ISO provides free command-line
tools for Linux and Mac OS X which permit the user to extract DAA files or convert
them into ISO format; however these tools haven’t been updated to maintain the most
recent version of the DAA format.
Acentonel ISO is free CD/DVD management
application for Linux that can renovate DAA ISO with the help of external Power
ISO command-line tool for Linux.
